Join BAE Systems as a Supply Chain Manager (Projects) at Portsmouth Naval Base, where you'll play a crucial role in pioneering progress and protecting what matters most. As part of a global colleague network, you'll contribute to delivering advanced, technology-led defence, aerospace, and security solutions.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all materials and services are planned and available to support Programme requirements for the Queen Elizabeth Class (QEC) program.
  • Collaborate with key Programme Stakeholders, Commercial, Operations, Engineering, Royal Navy, and Key Suppliers to understand, plan, and deliver supply chain requirements to the required quality, schedule, and cost levels.
  • Develop and manage the Materials Supply Plan and strategies for this strategically important and complex program.
  • Lead all supply chain activities within the QEC Programme, including bid support, operational performance management, and tactical issue resolution, to achieve project revenue, budget performance, and customer satisfaction targets.
  • Manage the full project life-cycle, ensuring Supply Chain outputs such as Bid deliverables, Supply Chain Management Plans, RBA inputs, Phase Reviews, and Design/Technical reviews are met.
  • Act as the prime point of contact for all project-related procurement issues and liaise with the Procurement Manager for material and sub-contracted services.
  • Ensure Supply Chain risks are understood within the project, mitigation plans are agreed upon, and commercial interests are protected and captured in risk registers.
  • Act as a change agent for Supply Chain within the project environment, assisting in the education and communication of developed strategies.
  • Manage Supply Chain project performance, budget, and risk, reporting into the project contract review pack.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with all key internal and external stakeholders, managing expectations through regular communication.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working within a Procurement or Supply Chain function.
  • Proven commercial and contractual acumen, demonstrated through managing internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to lead projects across multiple disciplines.
  • Experienced supply chain lead within major complex programmes.
