About the Role
As a Supply Chain Specialist at Babcock's Devonport Royal Dockyard, you will be instrumental in supporting the delivery of submarine maintenance programmes and ensuring the operational readiness of the Royal Navy. Within our Supply Chain function, your expertise will be key in understanding complex supplier networks, identifying potential risks, enhancing resilience, and facilitating informed decision-making across vital defence programmes.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to national security while developing your skills in supply chain management, procurement, supplier engagement, data analysis, and risk management. You will collaborate extensively with colleagues and suppliers, ensuring that critical materials, services, and capabilities are available when most needed. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain supply chain mapping activities to establish a comprehensive understanding of supplier networks.
- Engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders to gather, validate, and analyse supply chain data.
- Identify and assess supply chain risks to bolster resilience and support programme performance.
- Produce reports and insights to aid planning, decision-making, and operational delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance supply chain visibility, compliance, and overall effectiveness.
Essential Experience
- A solid understanding of supply chain structures, supplier relationships, and supply chain operations.
- Proven experience working collaboratively across different functions to achieve common goals.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management capabilities.
- The ability to analyse data and provide actionable insights for business decisions and risk management.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Qualifications
- A Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Progress towards or holding Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) accreditation is desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this position.
