The Role

As a Survival Equipment Supervisor, you'll supervise and undertake maintenance activities on essential survival and aircrew equipment, ensuring the highest standards of safety, airworthiness, and compliance are maintained. Working within a highly skilled aviation engineering team, you'll play a key role in supporting operational readiness while developing your leadership and technical expertise within a world-class defence and aerospace organisation.

What You'll Do Day-to-Day

  • Conduct maintenance, inspection, and diagnostic activities on survival and aircrew equipment assemblies.
  • Resolve equipment faults, carrying out repairs, modifications, and component replacements.
  • Perform functional testing to ensure equipment meets operational and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved technical documentation and maintenance procedures.
  • Carry out inspections, configuration management activities, and critical compliance checks.

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Valley.

Essential Experience

  • Experience working on survival equipment or comparable aircraft systems.
  • Experience in a Survival Equipment Technician, aviation engineering, or similar technical role.
  • Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and analytical skills.
  • Experience maintaining equipment in a regulated engineering environment.
  • Ability to work safely, accurately, and to defined technical standards.

Qualifications

  • Formal engineering training in RAF Trade Group 13 or equivalent.
  • Trade Qualified Authorisations in QSEAC or AVMEDSE.
  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, or equivalent, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) AND ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) security clearance for this role.
