About the Role
Are you ready to be part of the future? At QinetiQ, we are creating tomorrow through cutting-edge defence technology and ground-breaking innovations. Join us as a Senior Systems Engineer at our RAF Coningsby site to work with brilliant minds and advanced technology.
Day-to-day, you will be an integral part of an embedded team within 41 Test and Evaluation Squadron. Your primary focus will be to support the design, evaluation, and assurance of Typhoon capabilities for the Royal Air Force (RAF). You will assess system compliance and operational capability for mission-critical systems. Additionally, you will contribute to the wider analysis enterprise and flight test programmes by developing and assuring software tools and providing subject matter expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and support to Typhoon mission and avionics systems.
- Take a leading role in systems integration and flight test analysis activities.
- Apply verification and validation techniques to ensure airworthiness and safety.
- Define and support test plans and operational analysis activities.
- Support junior engineers within the analysis team.
Essential Experience:
- Experience delivering technical analysis and problem-solving across the engineering lifecycle.
- Basic proficiency in software development for engineering applications (e.g., Python, MATLAB, C++).
- Background in systems engineering or aerospace engineering.
- Experience working in safety-critical or regulated environments.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills and ability to present technical findings.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements:
- Ability to work full-time on site at RAF Coningsby is essential.
- Relevant STEM Bachelor’s Degree.
- Eligibility or willingness to obtain UK Security Clearance. Applicants must be eligible for SC clearance as a minimum.

This role involves 37 hours per week, with set working times of 08:00–16:30, based at RAF Coningsby. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
