The Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will be instrumental in delivering cutting-edge defence solutions by supporting the design and development of highly complex systems. You will work closely with experts from various engineering disciplines, contributing to the definition of requirements, shaping system architectures, and ensuring designs adhere to rigorous standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Elicit and develop requirements across multiple levels of the system hierarchy.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to develop the System Architecture.
- Produce a suite of system engineering artefacts that demonstrate progressive acceptance of the design against requirements.
- Take ownership of delivering aspects of system development within the current lifecycle phase.
This is a full-time, permanent position working 37 hours per week, offering hybrid working arrangements. Specific onsite and remote working days will be determined by business needs.
Essential Experience:
- A solid understanding of the engineering lifecycle and the V-Model, and its application to complex engineering programmes.
- A logical mindset with the ability to analyse and deconstruct complex problems into manageable tasks.
- Strong communication skills, with confidence in engaging with multiple stakeholders for work reviews and an ability to incorporate feedback and drive change.
- A Bachelor's degree in a STEM subject or equivalent demonstrable work experience.
Desirable Skills and Attributes:
- Experience with Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) for design development and familiarity with an MBSE framework, such as MagicGrid.
- Experience with requirements management software such as DOORS Classic or DOORS NG.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance. Applicants must be Sole UK Nationals.
