Job Summary

The jobholder supports all accounting duties, primarily focusing on Helicopter entities that include production and engineering facilities requiring cost accounting. Reporting is performed in English and Japanese to the Head of Accounting, with the ultimate reporting line to headquarters in France. Japan is a key entity within the APAC region, involving frequent correspondence with HQ and the region. This is a great opportunity to work with a large multinational group. Actual responsibilities will be determined or expanded upon interview.

Main Responsibilities

  • Tax (Main): Manage all tax matters by coordinating with the regional TAX manager and tax advisors concerning corporate tax, VAT, enterprise tax, etc. Perform TP analysis & monitoring with external consultants and handle tax audits.
  • Accounting: Prepare and assist in reviewing P&L, BS, and Cash Flow for the company accurately and timely (IFRS & JGAAP). Support the preparation of reporting packages and submit them to headquarters on time, with analysis of gaps between OP/FCST/Previous Month & Year. Settle I/C transactions and manage fund arrangements with group companies. Perform B/S clean-up, manage A/R, bank reconciliation, and lead other ad-hoc projects.
  • Audit & Internal Control/Compliance: Support all external & internal audits while monitoring an adequate level of internal control at all times. Update accounting policies and procedures if necessary.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as an interface with headquarters for all finance and control-related questions. Assist with external & internal audits in coordination with other Finance team members and departments. Engage in business partnering with other departments.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Finance & accounting background with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Understanding of Japanese accounting standards and preferably IFRS.
  • Strong inter-personal skills.
  • Native Japanese and business-level English proficiency.
  • Ability to work fairly autonomously, seeking ad hoc support from management when needed.
  • CPA, tax certificate, or accounting firm background is a significant plus.
  • Experience in a multi-national company is a plus.
