Technical Trainer - Design & Delivery

Lockheed Martin Strategic Systems is seeking a Technical Trainer - Design & Delivery to join our team at RNAD Coulport, Helensburgh. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the skills and knowledge of both the Royal Navy and our internal personnel. This is a significant opportunity to design and deliver training that has a tangible impact, while benefiting from excellent work-life balance through flexible working arrangements.

Work Pattern:

Flexible options include a (9/75) 9-day fortnight or (4xFlex) 4-day week, with days varying based on training delivery schedules. Hybrid working is standard, typically involving 1-2 days per week remotely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Integrate fully within the LMUK SS Training team and SWS Operations Handling Teams.
  • Deliver training to both civilian and military colleagues.
  • Design and deliver training material to support operational training, adhering to defence standards as per JSP 822 Defence Direction and Guidance for Training and Education.
  • Conduct reviews of training documentation in line with LMUK SS and Defence Quality Processes.
  • Support operational training outputs and broader team objectives, which may necessitate shift work and occasional US/UK travel.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of approved documentation, mandatory health and safety legislation, acceptance standards, and directives to ensure programme and company compliance.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Training Designer or Technical Trainer (with design experience).
  • Technical Training experience within Defence, Engineering, Armed Forces, Emergency Services, or a similar sector.
  • Strong communication, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to working shifts.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Motivation, reliability, and initiative to meet deadlines.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with RBHT and TMHT.
  • Strategic Weapon System (SWS) experience (as an Operator or Trainer).
