Technical Training Instructor

At Babcock, we are dedicated to creating a safe and secure world. We are seeking a motivated Technical Training Instructor to join our team at Ashchurch, near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. This role is pivotal in developing a skilled, safe, and high-performing workforce, working collaboratively with operational teams.

As a Technical Training Instructor, you will be instrumental in delivering engaging technical training, assessing competence, supporting continuous improvement, and building the capabilities essential for operational success. This is an excellent opportunity to leverage your technical expertise and passion for developing others, contributing significantly to workforce performance, safety, compliance, and quality across the organisation.

Day-to-day Responsibilities:

  • Deliver classroom, workshop, on-the-job, and digital training programmes.
  • Support employee onboarding and skills development initiatives.
  • Conduct competence assessments and provide coaching to individuals and teams.
  • Maintain training records, learning management systems, and competency frameworks.
  • Utilise training data and feedback to drive continuous improvement and operational effectiveness.

This is a site-based role with regular travel to various locations across the UK, and potential travel to other Babcock Defence Support Group (DSG) sites.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in delivering technical or vocational training.
  • Proven experience supporting workforce development and capability improvement.
  • Ability to engage and influence learners from diverse technical backgrounds.
  • Experience in assessing competence and providing coaching or mentoring.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • RQF Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant technical or trade discipline.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
