// Role Specification

NDT Level 2 or 3 Instructor/Examiner

We are seeking an NDT Level 2 or 3 Instructor/Examiner to join our team in Filton, Bristol. This full-time role involves preparing and delivering high-quality NDT courses at our BINDT approved training school. You will also be responsible for conducting NDT inspections using multiple methods, both at our facility and at customer sites.

Duties Include:

  • Training internal and external candidates in various NDT methods.
  • Invigilating, examining, and marking examinations to ensure standards are met.
  • Supporting the administration of training processes and contributing to quality requirements, including scoping, pricing, contract review, exam writing, and paperwork processing.
  • Managing training equipment and consumables, coordinating with procurement for replacements.
  • Possessing and maintaining Level 2 or Level 3 (EN4179) qualifications, with a willingness to upgrade to Level 3 (EN4179) if required.
  • Ensuring ongoing compliance with BINDT requirements and assisting with internal and external audits.
  • Contributing to the production of coursework and training materials, and developing examination papers.
  • Engaging students and building professional relationships with training partners.
  • Maintaining acquired skills and certifications and obtaining new ones as operationally required.
  • Pro-actively engaging with potential customers and supporting sales and marketing campaigns.
  • Travelling nationally and internationally for short periods as business needs dictate.

Essential Attributes:

  • EN4179 Level 2 qualifications (Level 3 desirable) in Ultrasonic Testing/Phased Array, Eddy Current Testing, Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, or Digital Radiographic Testing.
  • Holds or can obtain a Visual Acuity performance certificate.
  • Evidence of training in instructional techniques or a teaching certificate.
  • A growth mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Resilient and flexible approach to competing demands.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Good knowledge of aircraft structures, components, materials science, and product technology.
  • Proficiency in Google / Microsoft Office tools.
  • Formal certified instructional technique training from a recognised provider.
  • Documented and validated ‘On the Job Training’ experience hours.
