Role Overview
An opportunity for a Training Devices Project Manager has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Transport & Mission Training Aids Team, responsible for leading the execution on time, on cost, and on quality of all tasks related to the definition, purchase, development, validation, acceptance, qualification, and delivery of LTA and MRTT simulators to the customer.
Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and deliver LTA and MRTT simulators to customers.
- Support communications with customers, internal organizations, and suppliers, including defining contractual obligations and supplier contracts.
- Prepare Data Packages (DP) and Software Packages (SWP), and define/purchase Parts & Equipment (P&E) and Spares.
- Utilize Airbus configuration and documentation tools and participate in committees to analyze project impacts and launch appropriate activities.
- Ensure the provision of deliverables from all stakeholders on time, on cost, and on quality (OTOCOQ).
- Take full responsibility for the delivery of the final product to customers, managing risks and opportunities, and reporting key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare technical offers and associated cost calculations for Programme Representatives.
- Monitor and drumbeat activities to ensure projects meet performance indicators and customer requirements.
- Facilitate liaison between Airbus areas, suppliers, and the end-customer.
- Act as the point of contact for technical topics related to project execution with the end-customer and suppliers.
- Activities take place within an international framework.
- Produce outputs including technical/logistic/management requirements documents, cost calculations & control, plans/directives, schedules, statements of work, risk mitigation plans, project status reports, and KPI definitions.
- Approve technical documents, Minutes of Meetings (internal stakeholders, suppliers, customer), and Acceptance documents for the product.
Skills and Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering, Aeronautics, or equivalent.
- Over 5 years of experience in an aeronautical company.
- Training Aids design and development experience.
- Project Management experience.
- Negotiation level English with experience in an international environment.
- Knowledge of Air Power programs, specifically MRTT and LTA products.
- Multitasking, proactive, positive attitude, capacity to work in a team, unsupervised, with autonomy, and ability to adapt and learn quickly.
