Vehicle Maintenance Operative

The Role
As a Vehicle Maintenance Operative, you will undertake a role that is truly out of the ordinary. Your responsibilities will include maintaining, operating, and driving Armoured Fighting Vehicles and other specialist platforms, providing essential support to the contract within a dynamic and high-impact environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Perform Level 1 maintenance and repairs to vehicle-specific standards, adhering to authorised procedures where training is provided.
- Conduct preparatory tasks such as minor repairs, cleaning, painting, and refuelling.
- Support the tracking of usage and perform routine checks of stores and equipment.
- Manage the collection and delivery of vehicle platforms as required.
- Safely operate vehicles on public roads and off-road, in both day and night conditions.
This is a full-time permanent role, working 39 hours per week, based at our Bovington, Dorset site.
Essential Experience & Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, confident in representing the department in meetings and site visits.
- Experience with manual handling and physical working tasks.
- Must be 21 years of age or older due to licensing requirements.
- Possession of a full manual UK Driving Licence.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
