Vehicle Mechanic - Hull, East Riding

The Role

As a Vehicle Mechanic, you’ll be part of a skilled team maintaining and repairing military vehicles and electrical equipment. Your work will directly support the UK’s defence capability—making this a career with real purpose and impact. From diagnostics to inspections, you’ll ensure our fleet is ready for action while developing your own skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Servicing, repairing, and overhauling military vehicles and electrical systems.
  • Diagnosing, inspecting, and assessing vehicles and associated equipment.
  • Ensuring correct use of stores and returning unused or faulty items.
  • Creating job cards and requesting materials using ERP (SAP) systems.
  • Completing documentation and test certificates to current standards.

Please note that this position involves manual work, including lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods. A targeted medical questionnaire and/or examination is required for this role.

This is a full-time, permanent role based onsite at Leconfield, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible working hours available. A relocation package may be available, subject to eligibility.

Essential Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar mechanical role.
  • Experience in a dealership or local garage.
  • Hydraulics experience.
  • Ability to adapt and build rapport across teams.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Service and Repair.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, citizenship, and residency.
