The Role: Warehouse Technician
As a Warehouse Technician, you will be integral to supporting critical defence trials, testing programmes, and disposal activities. Your primary responsibility will be the safe handling, storage, control, and movement of specialist materials and equipment across the site.
Your day-to-day will involve overseeing warehouse operations, managing stock, and handling receipting, storage, and issuing activities. You will maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving, storing, and issuing specialist materials in accordance with safety regulations and operational procedures.
- Maintaining accurate stock control records and inventory management systems.
- Supporting warehouse operations, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Assisting with the planning and coordination of material movements to support operational activities and trials programmes.
- Contributing to risk assessments, safety procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve safe and effective operational outcomes.
Essential Experience:
- Experience in warehouse, logistics, stores, or inventory management environments.
- Understanding of stock control processes and accurate record-keeping.
- Knowledge of safe storage, handling, and movement of controlled or regulated materials.
- Ability to follow procedures and work within a highly regulated environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
- Valid manual driving licence.
Essential Qualifications:
- Level 2, Level 3, or Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant technical, logistics, engineering, or defence discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

This role is based at our Shoeburyness site, with a working week of 37 hours. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites may be required.

QinetiQ Shoeburyness is a prominent test and evaluation facility for defence and security technologies, specialising in environmental testing, including ordnance, explosives, and related systems. We implement measures to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and minimise ecological impact.
