About The Role
At Babcock, we are dedicated to creating a safe and secure world. We are seeking a skilled Weapons Technician to join our engineering team at our Ashchurch site, near Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. In this hands-on role, you will support critical defence equipment used by military and civil customers, contributing directly to national security and operational readiness.
Responsibilities
As a Weapons Technician, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance, repair, and modification of defence vehicles and armament systems.
- Diagnosing faults across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and completing effective repairs.
- Conducting inspections and equipment examinations to meet production and safety requirements.
- Working collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes.
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with technical standards and safety procedures.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in a similar mechanical, armourer, or technician role.
- Strong hands-on skills in maintenance and fault diagnosis.
- Experience in military environments or automotive/mechanical workshops is advantageous.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team and build strong working relationships.
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent Level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline.
Security Clearance
