Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Tool Administrator to ensure the operational readiness of A400M maintenance teams in Wunstorf, guaranteeing the availability of essential tools and equipment.

// Role Specification

As a Tool Administrator at our Wunstorf locations, you will be the linchpin for the operational readiness of our teams. You will guarantee the availability of tools, measuring equipment, and protective gear to ensure the smooth maintenance of the A400M fleet. In a dynamic environment, you will combine technical understanding with organizational skills and act as the primary point of contact for our mechanics and technicians.

This position is also possible with reduced weekly working hours and adjusted responsibilities.

Your Location

Wunstorf: This position includes the support of our docks in Wunstorf. The region offers the perfect blend of the urban flair of the state capital and a high recreational value due to the Steinhuder Meer. Whether culture, excellent medical care, or outdoor sports – you will find everything right on your doorstep. Your workplace is partly located directly at the Air Force airbase, creating a unique working atmosphere with direct product contact.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Ensure the availability of tools, special tools, measuring equipment (MuP), and PPE for A400M maintenance.
  • Procurement & Logistics: Ordering via digital catalogues, deadline monitoring, and coordination with central tool management, as well as goods receipt.
  • Maintenance & Testing: Performing usability checks, minor repairs, maintenance, and pre-settings on tools and hand tools.
  • Smart Administration: Management and troubleshooting of Smart Tool Cabinets, as well as maintenance of tool data records and permissions.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitoring and dispatching calibration-required tools to service providers, including checking calibration certificates and participating in audits.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Completed vocational training in a metalworking or electrical trade.
  • Experience: Several years of professional experience, ideally in aircraft manufacturing/maintenance or in the maintenance of ground support equipment.
  • IT Skills: Proficient user knowledge in SAP and confident handling of digital catalogues.
  • Work Safety: In-depth knowledge in the area of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS).
  • Communication: Good communication skills, as well as fluent German and good technical English skills.
