Working Student in Paints & Coatings (d/f/m)

Airbus Operations GmbH is seeking a motivated student to join the Engineering Surface Technology team in Bremen, Germany. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of aerospace paint and coating development, contributing to the future of sustainable aviation.

As a working student, you will be part of a dedicated team focused on developing and deploying new benchmark-applied chemistry for aircraft paints. You will support the overall research and development of sustainable, next-generation paint systems and conduct EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) compliant research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the overall research and development of a sustainable, next-generation paint system.
  • Research and development of EHS compliant primer and paint systems.
  • Formulate, apply, and analyze model coatings for different application cases.
  • Evaluate the technical performance of product proposals by defining test programs, executing testing, and preparing technical reports.
  • Conduct analytical investigations regarding the physical and chemical properties of various coatings.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled full-time student (d/f/m) in Paint Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or a related discipline.
  • A strong passion for surface technology, paints and coatings formulation, and corrosion prevention.
  • Prior experience in the general analytical evaluation and corrosion assessment of organic coatings is a strong plus.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills are mandatory.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-location, international team.
  • Negotiation-level English is required.

This position is based in Bremen, Germany. The role is for 12 months, starting from 15.10.206.
